Release History

Released on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 - 00:00 +0100

New Features

  • When attachments are saved to disk, they may optionally also be stored in the Metastorm database

Functional Improvements

  • The efficiency of direct database access has been improved
  • The error message displayed when a login fails due to the Metastorm Engine service not being started has been improved
  • To reduce load on the server and the effect of communications overheads type-ahead dropdown controls now wait for a short time after the last key press before refreshing the rest of the form.

Issues Resolved

  • There was an issue displaying memo fields that contained symbols similar to HTML markup.
  • Status fields used to display progress were showing incorrect images
  • Charts that use 'DataByRows' were not displaying the correct data.
  • SWiFT Purchase example was not showing alert when form validation fails on products page
  • SWiFT was attempting to access the eDescription field in the eAttachment table when the field was not defined, resulting in event log entries being generated, even though SWiFT continued to work correctly otherwise.
  • OnClick event for labels was being called twice
  • Memos dependent on a radio group were not being updated.
  • Drop down fields were not clearing when the empty entry was not in the option list
  • Alert list columns were not sorted when the column caption (text) was selected in Internet Explorer.
  • There was an issue with the translation of some strings
  • There was an issue with the sharepoint / clip relates client extensions
  • Selecting cancel when using a the date picker populated the date field with the selected date.
  • It has been possible for some time to configure the exposer to be used in the Config.Xml for the skin, overriding the settings in the SWiFT console. This was, however, not functioning.
  • When clicking a button moved focus from a field that was marked "Has dependents", the button click action was not executing.
  • The OnChange client extension did not execute when alongside SelectableCombo
  • There were issues using PDF Forms on Firefox.
  • Execution of ChildPostAction on parent form caused the button to be clicked, however the page was not being refreshed
  • PDF Forms were reopening even though a different form is defined for the stage.
  • It was not possible to delete files from a clip if the filename contained certain characters that are used for special purposes in web address strings.
  • If a process-defined script contained a string literal containing >/script<, some browsers were interpreting this as the end of the script, preventing the function from executing and treating all following characters as part of the web page.

Known Issues

  • When an attachment is stored to disk only, its size is mis-reported in a multi-clip
  • Dropdowns disappear when applying SWiFT Help balloons that overlay the drop down. This is a known issue with IE 6/7 and is independent of SWiFT.
  • Changing the option in a dropdown may cause the page to scroll if space is needed to display the dropdown.
  • If a SWiFT reserved word (Esp. FolderID) is used to name a field in Metastorm, SWiFT does not behave as expected. This is by design, and has been observed several times recently during support calls.

Please Note : End of Mainstream Support Notice

This will be the last release to explicitly support eWork 6 and SQL Server 2000, both of which have entered their Extended Support phases. SWiFT eWork 6 support has now entered its extended support stage and all users wishing to continue to use this functionality should enter into an extended support contract with BRD as a matter of urgency.

BRD will provide limited support a product for two years after the termination of mainstream support, provided that an extended support contract has been agreed. This support will only cover the environment in place at the time that mainstream support ended. Any changes to Hardware, Operating System (including hot-fixes & service packs), database server or Metastorm eWork 6 installation that affect your SWiFT Installation will not be supported.
